Another life lost to gun violence in Meyerton

The tragedy unfolded on 24 January in Sicelo Ext 5, Meyerton, where a 28-year-old man was found shot dead outside a shack, leaving residents shaken.

According to Meyerton SAPS, officers found the victim lying at the doorway, dressed in black trousers and a blue overall top, with two gunshot wounds to his stomach.

Meyerton SAPS Communication officer, Nompumelelo Zazini, told Walkerville and Savanna City Times: “The victim was declared dead by EMS at the scene, and two cartridges were recovered.”

The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and no arrests have been made. Police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist the investigation to come forward or contact Meyerton SAPS on 016 360 4300, SAPS Emergency on 10111, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
