Mass clean-up in De Deur, Savanna City and Lakeside Estates
On 8 March, the ‘#ReSebetsaMmoho Keep Midvaal Clean’ campaign held a mass clean-up in De Deur, Savanna City and Lakeside Estates.
Over 200 Community Work Programme (CWP) workers and hundreds of community members have volunteered their time to keep their areas clean.
The teams joined by the MMC for Development and Planning, Cllr Mokete Motsamai cleaned up public spaces, streets, cleared out illegal dumping and beautified the area.
The #ReSebetsaMmoho clean-up campaign takes place every Monday to Thursday, targeting different parts of the municipality including problematic, peripheral, and outlying areas.
“This campaign is a social initiative meant to raise environmental awareness as well as inspire civic education on waste management and collective ownership of the cleanliness of our communities,” said Motsamai.
Meanwhile, 7 notices were issued to structures and buildings found to be not compliant following inspections in De Deur, Savanna City and Lakeside Estate by MMC Motsamai, SAPS and the Midvaal building control teams.
