Operation O’Kae Molao nets more than 100 in De Deur
On Saturday 11 March, SAPS Gauteng Provincial Commissioner – Lt Gen Elias Mawela, Gauteng MEC for Community Safety – Faith Mazibuko, Midvaal MMC for Development Planning – Mokete Motsamai, SAPS management, Ward Councillors, Local CPF and senior officers from other law enforcement agencies held operation O’Kae Molao in De Deur.
Roadblocks, compliance inspections at liquor outlets, sting groups, stop and searches, vehicle check points and the teams followed crime intelligence information resulting in the arrest of more than 100 people for various offences.
Suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunitions, drug dealing, stock theft, cable theft, illegal immigrants, and many other serious crimes.
De Deur SAPS Detectives’ tracing operation resulted in 14 persons arrested for the following:
1 attempted murder,
1 armed robbery,
3 assault GBH,
6 assault common,
2 assault common (Domestic Violence related) and 1 for malicious damage to property.
