Two killed after bakkie crashes into a tree in Meyerton

On the evening on 10 April, two men believed to be in their 30s were killed when the driver lost control of his bakkie, causing it to crash into a tree off the Weilbach Road in Meyerton.

According to, ER24 arrived on the scene after 10pm to find the Midvaal Fire Services in attendance. A bakkie was seen smashed against a large tree, with two men trapped inside.

The Midvaal Fire Services used specialised equipment to free the men from the vehicle.

“Once released, medics assessed the men and found that both had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead,” arrive alive added.

The details surrounding this incident are unknown.
