Midvaal launches Sicelo Library’s Podcast Studio opening doors to creative expression
As part of the National Library Week, Midvaal Local Municipality officially opened a state-of the-art Podcast Studio at Sicelo Library earlier today.
The facility, equipped with recording equipment and editing software, aims to empower community members to create and share their stories, ideas and voices through podcasts. It will serve as a creative hub where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can explore the art of podcasting, express themselves and engage with diverse topics relevant to the community.
The Podcast Studio will be available for bookings by individuals, groups and organisations interested in producing podcasts on a wide range of topics.
“Whether it is storytelling, interviews, discussions, music recording, voiceovers or educational content, the studio offers a platform for creative expression and knowledge sharing,” said the Municipality.
Executive Mayor, Cllr Ald Peter Teixeira, expressed enthusiasm about the new Podcast Studio, stating, that he is delighted to see Midvaal Libraries embracing digital innovation and providing thecommunity with opportunities for creative expression.
He said: “Podcasts have the power to amplify diverse voices, spark meaningful conversations, and strengthen community connections. The launch of the Podcast Studio aligns with Midvaal’s vision of enhancing service delivery through innovative technologies. This will also foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and empowerment.”
