Mr Hollywood scores fifth-round stoppage victory in Pretoria

Walkerville’s boxer Jarred “Mr Hollywood” Silverman delivered a thrilling fifth-round TKO victory over Simphiwe Ntombela on 28 February at the Silverlakes Farm Hotel in Pretoria.

The bout, part of the “Battle For Love” event, was characterised by high intensity from the opening bell as both fighters moved to the centre of the ring and exchanged heavy shots.

Ntombela proved durable and tough throughout the contest, living up to his reputation as a formidable opponent. Silverman maintained relentless forward pressure and controlled the pace as the fight progressed.

By the fifth round, Silverman increased the tempo of his attack, forcing the referee to stop the fight after a sustained offensive sequence, securing a statement victory by technical knockout.

He is originally from Walkerville, and is trained by Vusi Mtolo and managed by Colleen McAusland.

After the fight, Silverman praised his opponent’s toughness. “Simphiwe is very tough and he hits hard, but I come to fight,” he said.

With momentum on his side, Silverman says he is now targeting bigger opportunities as he pushes his professional career forward.
