Midvaal residents can collect free indigenous ornamental and fruit trees following a donation to the municipality by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment. According to a public notice issued by Midvaal Local Municipality on 27 October, residents can collect the trees from the Parks Department at the Midvaal Depot on Galloway Street in Meyerton.
Each household is limited to two trees. Residents must provide proof of residence or their latest municipal statement to qualify. Collections take place from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 15:00.
Residents who need more information can contact the municipality on 016 360 7594. The initiative gives residents an opportunity to add trees to their gardens while supporting greener neighbourhoods.
