Road safety awareness brings stakeholders together in Meyerton

On 21 October, at Meyerton Central, Midvaal Municipality, the Department of Transport hosted an awareness event as part of South Corridor Transport Month.

The purpose was to engage stakeholders and transport associations on road safety, with a focus on addressing the high incidence of accidents in the area.Various stakeholders addressed attendees, highlighting key safety concerns and promoting collaborative efforts to improve road safety.

Participating stakeholders included: Provincial Traffic Department; Department of Community Safety; Department of Health; Sedibeng Municipality; Emfuleni Municipality; Midvaal Municipality; Midvaal Executive Mayor; MMC for Public Safety; Midvaal Traffic and Fire Departments; District and Meyerton SAPS; COGTA; Legislators; EMS; ER25; CERT; Agape; CPF Exco; MATA; MISTA; OFUTA; Gauteng Traffic & Traffic Wardens; Outsurance; Parents & Scholar Patrols; Brigades; Youth Desk; Siyabangena; Security Companies.

The event fostered dialogue between authorities, transport associations, and the community to promote safer roads in the region.
