Operation Vala Umgodi delivers major arrests in De Deur
On Wednesday, 10 December, the Provincial Operation Vala Umgodi was carried out in the De Deur SAPS policing area with a clear mission: to address crime and restore safety in the community.
The operation kicked off with a parade at Walkerville Spar, opened by a prayer and followed by the reading of the SAPS Code of Conduct. This moment served as a reminder for members to uphold the values, integrity, and responsibilities they committed to when taking their oath.
Members from various police stations across the Sedibeng District, together with Siyabangena Patrollers, joined forces for this coordinated crime-prevention effort. Throughout the day, officers intensified patrols in identified hotspot areas to curb criminal activity and maintain law and order.The operation delivered significant results.
Police arrested 10 undocumented individuals -seven from Malawi, three from Mozambique, and one from Zimbabwe. In addition, one suspect was arrested for rape and assault GBH. Operation Commander, Captain Mthimkulu, welcomed the arrests and praised all participating members for their professionalism, discipline, and commitment to protecting the community.
