On 23 October, Midvaal Local Municipality handed over the proceeds raised during its second annual Mayoral Charity Golf Day to Ikhwezi Lokusa Centre in De Deur, which provides accommodation and care for adult men living with mental health conditions.
Midvaal Executive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira said the contribution would help strengthen support for mental health and well-being in the community.
“We are grateful to all our sponsors, partners and participants who contributed towards making this initiative possible. Special appreciation goes to Nedbank for supporting the event and pledging an additional R10 000 towards Ikhwezi Lokusa Centre. Together, we can strengthen support for mental health and well-being and make a difference in people’s lives,” said Teixeira.
Nedbank supported the charity golf day and pledged an additional R10 000 towards the centre.
The initiative highlights the role of partnerships between the municipality, businesses and other stakeholders in supporting care facilities and promoting mental health and well-being.
