Teeing off for a cause: Midvaal Mayoral Charity golf day inspires and delights
The Inaugural Mayoral Charity Golf Day took place on 12 September, bringing together councillors, business leaders, and community partners in support of charitable initiatives across Midvaal.
Addressing participants, Midvaal Executive Mayor Ald Peter Teixeira said:
“Your participation in today’s Mayoral Golf Day Challenge is an expression of humanity, botho, and ubuntu. Local government must move beyond providing basic services and work together with communities and the private sector to build a caring and compassionate society. Midvaal sees its residents as people, families, and communities, not just ratepayers. Events like this allow us to support initiatives such as Kanguru, which cares for severely ill and disabled children, and fund important Mayoral Programmes.”
He thanked all participants for their generosity, emphasizing that their involvement goes beyond golf, making a real difference in the lives of those in need.
The event saw active participation from HEINEKEN Beverages, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Midvaal Chamber of Commerce, and other local businesses, highlighting the power of collaboration in uplifting the community.
