Midvaal engages residents on 2026/2027 Draft Budget
Residents of Midvaal gathered at Lakeside Multipurpose Centre on the evening of 22 April for a public engagement session on the municipality’s 2026/2027 Draft Budget.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to involve the community in shaping the municipality’s financial priorities.
Midvaal Executive Mayor Ald. Peter Teixeira, alongside MMC for Financial Services Cllr Patricia Hutcheson, led the session for Ward 6, outlining key proposals and planned allocations. The engagement provided residents with an opportunity to gain insight into how funds are expected to be distributed and how proposed tariffs may impact them.
Community members were encouraged to actively review the draft budget and supporting documents, which are available online and at various municipal facilities, including the Civic Centre Rates Hall, local libraries, and satellite offices.
The municipality has called on residents to make their voices heard by submitting comments and inputs before the deadline of 08 May 2026. Submissions can be made via email at budget@midvaal.gov.za or delivered directly to the Speaker’s Office in Meyerton.
Midvaal officials emphasised that public participation plays a crucial role in ensuring the budget reflects the needs and priorities of the community.
